Simple Tip How To Shower Your Dog with non-hot Water

Dogs are better showered with warm water, but if there’s no water heater in house, it’s also possible to shower them with non-hot (normal, not too cold) water. But be prepared, dogs are genius and they can remember each things ever made them feel uncomfortable. So it is our duty – dog lovers- to make the showering time as fine and fun as we wanted them to remain it.

So anyway, Never watering them directly on their face, first of all rub dog’s face carefully (it’ll make them feel comfort), then go to their feet, don’t go to dog’s body right away, the water may shocks your dog and dog will easily trembled with cold. If they tremble and make little noise, it means they don’t feel too comfort. You can see dog’s reaction when they feel ‘okay’ enough and adapt with the water. Look at their eyes to help them feel that way, Then go watering under dog’s neck, do it caressing-like. After that go watering all dog’s body (do it from below part of dog’s body then slightly go to the side of the body, last, dog’s upper body)

After all dog’s body wet, rub the shampoo carefully from neck then rub all over dog’s body. Dogs enjoy conversation, so we may ‘talk’ to them while showering them. It’ll distract the fact that they’re wet (some dogs feel annoyed enough with water ). Don’t forget to clean up all the shampoo (yes, dogs, can have dandruff too).

Last, let dog swished his/her body to get rid of the water, then wipe dog’s face , continue to neck then all the body with towel (towel better be prepared around the bathing space first so our lovely dog shouldn’t have to wait too long for us running to get the towel). The very last, we may play with them by using the towel. They’ll have fun and that’s what they’ll remember about getting showered. =p

Dogs Don’t need to be Yelled

We often hear that dogs should know who the master is, and therefor lots of people often tend to yell or smack/hit dogs to let dogs know who the master is.

Well, i must admit, i did kind of that ‘method’. My dogs seemed so obedient at that time. He never pee inside the house, if we’re in my room and he needed to pee he would scratch or barked at the door then gave me the look ” open the door please” , he easily understood if i call him or told him to go outside , or to sit, he even know if i clean the house means he should go outside. What matters is, as he grown up (just like kids in junior high school, kids around that age mostly tend to rebel) he started to rebel and became sarcastic (it’s because i taught him wrongly & he remembers my attitude) . As two other boys came in , he ‘s overwhelmed with jealousy (with the new boys, i don’t do that method anymore), so he started to mad at the new boys just like the way i taught him in the past…(oh dear…**sigh**)

Well, here’s the tip :

If your dog pees everywhere , wipe it with tissue and put the tissue in a place meant to be his ‘pee’ territory, then wash the stained tile with soap or strong scented liquid. Make sure your dog smell it, and take them to where the tissues putted. Do it every time, he needs to get used to it, be patient, later your dog will know the different. . Get along with dogs every time you have time, so your dog will recognize your scent, and he’ll aware that we have our own ‘ territory’.

If you mad at your dog (caused of any cases) , don”t yell , don’t smack, just talk to them firmly. While you talk to them, make sure you make them sit (or if you can’t make your dog sit, down to the level of your dog’s eyes, see your dog’s eyes and tell your dog that you’re mad) you gotta do that until your dog sit. Watch your dog’s tail then, if it still swished, it means your dog doesn’t now that you are mad. We may need lots of patience to do this, but if this work, your dog is officially understand that you’re the master.

Thing still go on, don’t stop there. Sometimes when they see us mad, they might ask an apology ( they usually sit and reach out part of our body by swinging their hand and make silly – pathetic face) , well, don’t fall for it!… Keep your authority. Stick to the thing that causes you mad. It’ll explain them that you’re not to be played, and they’ll know that’s the consequences if they did unacceptable attitude, somehow they will know they must follow the rule.

Good luck, and tell your dog i say hello =)
